Arabic Sapun Ghar, French Savon d'Alep, Spanish Castile soap (jabon castillano) is a soap originally produced in and around Aleppo from olive oil and from a variable proportion of the fatty oil of berries of the true laurel. This natural soap is made without dyes, artificial flavors, perfumes, stabilizers or other synthetic substances. Today, however, the term Aleppo soaps stands less for geographical origin and more for a precisely defined manufacturing process with prescribed ingredients.

Pure olive soaps, laurel soaps are extremely rare, because most manufacturers like to mix the more expensive olive oil and laurel oil with the much cheaper palm oil or coconut oil, or replace them completely. Lauralep Aleppo soap, on the other hand, is a pure natural soap and is handmade in cauldrons according to a traditional recipe. Sustainable and made exclusively with olive oil and laurel oil.

The manufacturer: The company - "Lauralep". The Syrian-born and owner Akila Mansour, came to France in 1989 to study and found here your new life center. Madame Mansour's family has been running a small soap factory in Syria, in the province of Latakia, for generations. In response to increasing demand from her circle of friends, Madame Mansour began in 2004 to officially import and sell soaps from the Syrian family business. The company Lauralep was born. Her sense of responsibility and environmental awareness led her early on to use only organically grown products. Finally, in 2007, the BIO certification by ECOCERT in Syria took place. Now the first authentic organic Aleppo soaps could be offered.

However, the growing crisis and political situation in Syria prevented the continuation of production in the country itself. As a result, in accordance with Ecocert, the small production was moved to Nice, the current headquarters. Today, Lauralep Organic Aleppo Soap is produced in Nice (France) using the time-honored process of Aleppo production with cold-pressed organic virgin olive oil and laurel oil.

Ingredients INCI: Olea Europea Oil (olive oil 60%), Lauris Nobilis Oil (laurel oil 40%), Aqua (water), Sodium Hydroxyde (soda ash) ** Sodium Hydroxyde (sodium hydroxide) is needed for saponification. This is gradually broken down by the saponification process, a process that takes about 6 weeks.
