Wine description: This French Pinot Noir is characterised by its subtle elegance and balanced structure. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby red colour that hints at the sophistication of this wine. Aromas of ripe red berries, fine spicy notes and a hint of vanilla caress the nose. A beautiful aromatic balance between woody notes (cloves, toasted bread) and notes of red fruit. The soft attack gives way to a nice roundness and a slight sweetness in the mouth with melted tannins and the presence of fruity flavours on the finish.

On the palate, the Cos d'Amphore Pinot Noir unfolds with a soft, velvety texture. The fullness of the fruit harmonises perfectly with the gently integrated tannins, which give the wine depth and character. The long, elegant finish rounds off this impressive flavour experience.

Recommendation: This fine Pinot Noir is naturally suitable for warm meat dishes, especially game or goulash as well as roast dishes. Hearty cheese platters are also suitable for a complementary flavour experience. Also highly recommended without food. A great single drinker for socialising.

Shelf life: ca. 5 years

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand overnight to keep the grapes at low temperatures. Cold maceration before fermentation at 8 °C (6 hours), pneumatic cold pressing, static pre-clarification, temperature-controlled fermentation at 16 °C. Fermentation and maturation on fine lees for 6 months. 10% of the wine is matured in 225lt French oak barrels.

The terroir: The vineyards are located in the upper valley of the Hérault, where the climate remains cool. The soils are calcareous and sandy.
