Basis Info Aleppo Soap, Laurel Soap: Arabic Sapun Ghar, French Savon d'Alep, Spanish Castile Soap (jabon castillano) is a soap originally produced in and around Aleppo from olive oil and from a variable proportion of the fatty oil of berries of the real laurel. This natural soap is made without dyes, artificial flavours, perfumes, stabilisers or other synthetic substances. Today, however, the term Aleppo soaps stands less for geographical origin and more for a precisely defined manufacturing process with prescribed ingredients.

Pure olive soaps, laurel soaps are extremely rare, as most manufacturers like to mix the more expensive olive oil and laurel oil with the much cheaper palm oil or coconut oil, or even replace them completely. Royal Aleppo soap, on the other hand, is a pure natural soap and is handmade in cauldrons according to a traditional recipe. Sustainable and exclusively with olive oil and laurel oil. 

The manufacturer: The small Savonnerie ENSA Bio Cosmétique is a classic, traditional family business from Toulon, the original soap capital of France. The Schembri family, father and son, are now the second generation to run this traditional business. In the beginning, M. Schembri Senior only produced Aleppo soaps directly in Syria. Increasing European requirements led to the relocation of production to Toulon.
When his son joined the company, the range was expanded to include Ecocert olive oil organic cosmetics from their own production.  Best, certified natural cosmetics, respect for the environment and nature, that is the maxim of the manufacturer. They mainly use local raw materials, which Provence offers in abundance. Production takes place directly on site.
